My Job Shadow

On Monday June 30, I had an opportunity to go to the College Of Business for what was supposed to be a job shadow experience. My instructer Kara Smyth made the experience quite fun. She told us everything we needed to do in order to get into the college of business. We learned about all the course classes we had to take in order to meet the requirements. She also told me about how I could major and minor in International Business and Accounting. Basicly we really didn't job shadow anyone, we just sat in a confrence room and learned about we could get in the college and how we should apply. I really did learn alot from Mrs. Smyth, but I wasn't what I expected.

The one accomplishment that i have achievemented was when I was a tutor for a tutorial program at my church. It was a wonderful experience, I had a chance to work with the younger students of our Church. My job was to help the students was their math assignments, make sure they knew how to do it, make sure they understood what the teacher was asking them to do. I really enjoyed that because math is my favorite subject in school. Tutoring these students really taught me to be patient. It also taught me that if I really wanted to teach someone something that I already know, I would have to change my approach in the way i try to teach them.

The one issue that is important to me is the Safe Haven law. This is important to me because i feel its a good thing to do for women who has trouble taking care of a child. This law will help a lot or children because it allows women to leave their baby in a place were they know somebody is going to find it.for example the hospital, the doctors office or a store. I think that the women who know that they can not take care of child so they have the option of doing this better than leave it in a dumpster or kill it and throw it away. I think because i have a nephew I look at things a little different I'm more sensitive when it comes to kids and if you should get an abortion or not.

their are many people who has influenced me, But the one I'm going to talk about is the best one. This one has taught me a lot almost everything i know. She has been my role model i learned so much from her she taught me how to be a lady, how to be respectful, how to behave how to present myself in front of people. i know I'm silly funny and loud but i know when to be silly and when not to be so I'm very grateful for her.

I would like to attend this school because its a nice size and its close to home. I like that i have already had a chance to stay on campus and go to class and enjoy everything about UNO. It has eveything i want in a school, the help i need to continue my education, the profressors they are wonderful.

The college experience on campus

The things that were most encouraging and motivating to me were the staff and the students. When i thought i couldn't do something they were there to tell me I could do what ever it was i thought I couldn't do.The staff was there to help me with anything and everything I needed them for, The best part was that I could always find at least one of them.

The first day we went to Ashland for the challenge course. I met a lot of friends. Everyone had one thing in common WE WERE ALL SCARED! With the support of each other we ALL managed to get through it.

I think the most challenging thing for me was trying to manage my time. I knew that I had to study and take notes but I still wanted to go and be with my friends. The hard part was that they didn't have any homework and they didn't have to study as hard as i did. They could hang out but I had to study.

One of the things that I really enjoyed while I was there was the game night were we had all these different stations that each group had to complete. The best station was the human knot. Then it was the blind folded puzzle.
